Beyond The Sea - The Bobby Darin Songbook

In 1959, Bobby Darin scored a number 1 hit with 'Mac the Knife' – the only chart hit of the song. Even before that time, he had reached the popular music charts with hits like 'Splish Splash' 'Dream Lover' and more.

Darin was not however, simply a pop singer – he could portray any style of song as well as anybody. His life and career were tragically cut short when he died at the age of just 37 years. His reportoire of music ranged from the early pop years, but he is perhaps best remembered for the smooth Swing and Romantic standards he performed and recorded.

Often compared to Frank Sinatra, he was able to handle any song with the authority of the famous 'Rat Pack' and he appeared in Las Vegas alongside the biggest stars of his era.

This concert, is a celebration of around 25 of his best known songs, including 'Lazy River' 'Beyond the Sea' 'Mame' 'Clementine' 'As Long as I'm Singing' 'Gyp the Cat' 'Once Upon a Time' and of course, the song he made his own..
